music and the generations..

music is something that is heard by people of all ages,  races,  casts and so on..  at times,  it seems that life would be nothing without music..  sometimes it helps it's forget our pain.. sometimes it makes things more worse..  depends on or moods and the type of music we are listening to..  i do not know when people became aware of music.. i have heard people listening to music since i was a child..  the music then was a bit different than it is today..  back then,  people listened to the music which they thought was good and worth listening to.. singers like Abida Parveen, Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, Lata, M.Rafi etc were famous back then.. if today's generation is asked to listen to those songs, they would prefer the songs of this era..  things have changed...  people back then would prefer old songs,  even in this era..  today's generation likes to listen to heavy base songs,  rock songs,  R n B etc.. they would prefer Linkin park,  Rihanna, akcent, Beyonce, Sean Paul etc.. and if you force your elders to listen to these songs, they would call them rubbish.. i think music helps a person to come out of his problems and be a normal person..

music contributes to a country too.. if a country has talent then it can become renowned in the world.. recently, a show was being telecasted that had talents from two countries that are considered enemies of each other..  it was an attempt to create friendly relationship between these countries.. it was a good show.. keeping aside the fact that racism was displayed many times.. both the countries had sent their teams to complete for the trophy.. both teams had couple of really good singers..the jury consisted of two judges from one nation and one judge from the other.. both teams also had their captains.. in the end, the nation that showed racism lost.. despite the fact that the losing team had lots of music schools..

the musicians of Pakistan are known since a very long time now.. Nazia Hassan, Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, Abida Parveen, Noor Jehan.. and if you consider today's era, the singers today are Atif Aslam, Mustafa Zahid, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, Ali Zafar, Annie Khalid, Farhan Saeed and so on.. these singers have also provided their services to Indian industry.. India was unable to copy our pop music for a long time.. i think this still holds,  that's why they invite our singers to sing for them.. which is a good thing in a way..it helps them get a break.. people who would not know about them because they are Pakistani, when they hear their songs in Indian movies they get to know about them.. i remember when i was in my 2nd year, my Business Maths teacher told me that while solving questions listen to music.. it keeps your mind fresh and you can study for a longer time, without getting tired.. it is a great trick for solving numerical questions.. but not theory..
